Diane pictured with fellow deacon Trevor Wilson CBE JP after the collection of items to send to Africa.
The theme for harvest at Blackley Church this year was the work of Operation Agri in villages and cities of India. It was interesting to see the help the people are getting from this organisation both with growing crops, setting up crafts to help them support themselves, and in health and education. During the service we watched a short DVD illustrating this important work. We also supported the Christian African Relief Trust, a local organisation that we have supported for a long time by bringing gifts of dried food, educational items and medical supplies to be sent to the poorest of people in Africa.

Could you perhaps tell me if you are fully behind this ‘Christian Love In Action’ business?
I can understand the desire to support action that helps alleviate African poverty. I do not understand how this correlates with the LibDems direction in constitutional change that I fully support. Especially with regard to separation of church and state and both houses reform that seem to contradict your promotion of particular religious doctrines.
